Fine art print of an original antique lithograph titled "Ascension de Madame Blanchard au Champ-de-Mars, 1810."
Sophie Blanchard (1778 – 1819) was a French aeronaut and the wife of ballooning pioneer Jean-Pierre Blanchard. She was the first female professional balloonist, making more than 60 ascents. Blanchard entertained Napoleon Bonaparte, who promoted her to the role of "Aeronaut of the Official Festivals".

Printed using the finest pigmented inks on heavyweight German paper made from 100% cotton and natural spring water. Hand finished.
