Aurochs defending itself against wolves. The Aurochs is an extinct type of wild cattle, similar to the American buffalo, and inhabited Europe, Asia and Africa. It survived in Europe until 1627. Stone age cave paintings have been discovered which show creatures that look like the Aurcohs. The German title for the print was "Der Urstier (Bos primigenius)".
This is a fine art print of a lithograph from the early 1900s by Heinrich Harder, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
