Cactus Art

Our cactus art prints are inspired by vintage botanical illustrations from the period 1600 to 1920.
We make them with superb pigmented inks and heavyweight 300gsm German fine art paper made from 100% cotton and spring water.
Cacti (Cactaceae) fascinate plant collectors as they have interesting shapes. There are over 2000 species, ranging from 20m high to a few centimetres. Most come from North and South America and many specimens were collected by expeditions in the 18th and 19th centuries. Excellent antique prints of cacti were made to document these expeditions and help sell the cacti grown from the specimens. Our prints are inspired by these antique illustrations.
