Vintage shell art by Oliver Goldsmith showing Acute, Variegated, Turbo Scalaris, Zebra, Fiery, Chestnut, Virgin, White-lined Agate shells and Patched Cassis, Diana's Ear Strombus, Knotty Ptrocera and Roseate Harpa cone shells.
This image was made at a time when the Victorians were very interested in natural history and indeed many pursued it as hobby, for example collecting and studying butterflies, beetles and wild flowers.
