Edmonston and Douglas were publishers in Scotland in the mid 19th Century. They commissioned a series of wonderful natural history prints with the purpose of educating children. The animals were drawn with a great sense of movement and placed in realistic and fascinating environments. They are reminiscent of Japanese woodblock prints of the period.
Our fine art prints are inspired by antique illustrations. We make them with superb pigmented inks and heavyweight German fine art paper made from 100% cotton and spring water.
