
Blackbirds
Features Blackbird (Turdus merula). Blackbirds breed in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and have been introduced to Australia and New Zealand. The male is all black except for a yellow eye-ring and bill and has a rich melodious song; the adult female and juvenile have mainly dark brown plumage.
Based on a beautiful antique lithograph made in the 1890s by F.W.Frohawk, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
