Game birds are those which were hunted but had not been domesticated. Hunting was especially popular before the 20th century - in Europe the aristocracy loved to go grouse and pheasant shooting; in the USA hunting was often a necessity as people lived so far from town. Game birds traditionally include ducks, geese, grouse, pheasant, quail, turkeys and partridge. Most of the best game bird art was made in this period, before the advent of photography. Our fine art prints of game birds are inspired by vintage illustrations from the period 1600 to 1920. We make them with superb pigmented inks and heavyweight 300gsm German fine art paper made from 100% cotton and spring water.
