Hippopotamus
Fine art print.
Features a hippopotamus (hippopotamus amphibius), or hippo, the hippopotamus is the third-largest type of land mammal. Their closest living relatives are cetaceans (whales, porpoises, etc.) from which they diverged about 55 million years ago. Hippos have barrel-shaped torsos, enormous mouths and teeth, nearly hairless bodies, stubby legs and tremendous size.
Based on an engraving made in the 1840s by Charles Orbigny, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
