Mallow Flowers
Fine art print.
Features Common, Dwarf and Musk Mallow.
This plant is one of the earliest cited in recorded literature. Horace mentions it in reference to his own diet, which he describes as very simple.
Mallow, which grows wild in the Middle East, is widely used as a source of nourishment in wartime and periods of austerity.
Based on a botanical lithograph made in the late 1850s by Anne Pratt, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
