Mesohippus Prehistoric Horse
A superb vintage illustration of a prehistoric Mesohippus - an early, primitive ancestor of the horse which lived about 30-40 million years ago. Like many fossil horses, Mesohippus was common in North America. Mesohippus had longer legs than its predecessor Eohippus and stood about 60 cm tall.
Based on an antique print from the early 1900s by Heinrich Harder, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
