Parrots, are among the most intelligent birds. There are about 370 species, most vivdly coloured. Parrots are found in most tropical and subtropical regions. They have featured in stories and art for thousands of years. As they were sought after as pets, they were relatively well studied and illustrated in the era of exploration from the 16th to 19th centuries. Most of the best illustrations of parrots were done in that period,before the advent of photography. Parrots are still popular in art these day. Our parrot art is inspired by vintage illustrations from the period 1600 to 1920. We make them with superb pigmented inks and heavyweight 300gsm German fine art paper made from 100% cotton and spring water.
