Bulldog
Fine art print.
Features a bulldog. The term “bulldog” was first mentioned in literature around 1500. The name “bull” was applied because of the dog’s use in the sport of bull baiting. Bull-baiting reached the peak of its popularity in england in the early 1800s until it was made illegal by the cruelty to animals act 1835.
Based on an engraving from 1804 by J. Scott, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
