Mr Veitch's Calathea. Calathea Veitchiana
Features Mr Veitch's Calathea (Calathea veitchiana) endemic to Ecuador. This plant was discovered by the Victorian plant collector, Richard Pearce in 1862, and named in honour of his employers, James Veitch and Sons.
Based on a beautiful antique lithograph made in the 1850s by Shirley Hibberd, which we have carefully restored and enhanced.
